WHO IS CHIKINMOM?

My name is Julianne Marie McMahon Salvagio, but I go by “Juli”, “Jules”, or “chikinmom”. I was born in Houston, Texas April 18, 1973.  I have always lived in Houston, Texas.  I went to Paul Revere Middle School, where I met my husband, John,  graduated from Saint Agnes Academy, and TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.  I had a career before Chick-fil-A, and became an Operator in 2005.  My heart hurts when people feel hopeless or stuck, so, my purpose is to help people create possibility in their lives.

Why CHikinMom?

Our CEO, Dan Cathy, once reminded me that while Chick-fil-A is important and my team and guests deserve my best, my family deserves better.  He challenged me to put God and family first, and then Chick-fil-A.  As an Operator of this amazing company, there are so many people and challenges, and I am often pulled in many directions.  I have three children, and over 100 team members.  That’s why they call me chikinmom.  I find myself being a “mom” to many.  My daughter told me she didn’t know how to spell “chicken" correctly on her spelling test, because she has known “chikinmom” all of her life.  John, Jake, Joel, and Julia, I love you..

Owner/

Operator

As an Owner/Operator, I am called to represent the brand and build the brand.  My goal is to deliver the promise of great food, fast and accurate service and genuine hospitality that Truett Cathy created back in 1946.   My role is to hire and develop talented people who can execute well, and get results.  I also get the opportunity to represent the brand in the media, on committees, and as an Operator Consultant at Texas Children’s Hospital and Texas Medical Center.  In 2005, I was the first female Operator in the Houston Metro area, and now we have 14 amazing female operators, called “femops”.  It has been wonderful to work with top notch “boss ladies” who encourage each other, share best practices and have a little fun along the way.
